Miami Moves Forward on Single-Use Plastics
The City of Miami is moving forward with a procurement policy aimed at reducing single-use plastics and polystyrene foam in future City concession contracts and City-operated concessions.
The initiative specifically addresses foodservice items including cups, lids, utensils, straws and bags—categories where scalable alternatives are becoming increasingly important.

For foodservice distributors, wholesalers and institutional buyers, the challenge isn't simply finding an alternative to plastic and foam. It's securing compostable foodservice packaging at scale with consistent specifications, documentation and reliable supply.
AMS•COMPOSTABLE manufactures compostable cups and lids, cutlery, sugarcane bagasse containers, compostable bags and liners for high-volume B2B programs.
